psp HardHat's Battle Arena version 0.61 released for PSP

well, I found it strange to play the whole game without talking to anyone, so I've added trainers to each training station and got Daniel Chan to write up some dialog for them to guide you through the training to the final battle.

    Version 0.61:
    - added trainers who guide you through the whole Mage Master experience.
    - fixed underpowered spells from increasing your opponent's health. It now says
    attack was ineffective.
    - moved game save to START so that those O saving loops go away
    - use O to exit from battle preparation screens.
    - all new mage upgrades now happen at green or white training centres
    - rearranged the order of the training centres to have a more natural flow around the road, and switched the game save format. The order is now: white, yellow, red, blue, black (tournament) and green. Please consider restarting your game, I load, but don't gurantee the integrety of your old games.

Well, you have to set a good example for rising programmers right?

Why does this game reminds me of Runescape?

    Hey Hardhat.

Nice work mate looks awesome. Way improved from the last build I tested.

Been soo busy with real life stuff lately that I haven't even got to code myself nevermind check out what everyone else is up to!

I will definitely be checking this out along with doing some programming myself tonight

Zack, I wondered where you went off to.

Batlle Arena is coming along nicely. It plays quite well really. I hope you enjoy it.

I haven't tried runescape, but in Battle Arena I think that the spells are reasonablely well balanced during the progression from novice to mage master.

I'll put runescape on my list of things to things to try. I would consider making an online version of the game, so maybe I could learn a little from trying that one. I really have read a lot about MMO, and I have experience making online protocols for networking. But I haven't put them together for an MMO due to the level of complexity. But I always had in mind that you should be able to take your mages and duel with your friends (or at least me duel with my son). So that is something to look forward to I suspect.

I played battlearena now and it's a awesome game.
The loading times are a bit long an there are some minor framedrops but i clocked my psp to 333 mhz instead of 222 and now the framedrops are gone.
