Default New to the DC Emulation sceen

    Hey all,

I just got my first Dreamcast two weeks ago and I love it. My emulation burns and other burns have burned successfully. I'm just a little curious about somethings.

1.) What decent game emulators for the DC is still active? I seen some emulator websites haven't been active for years.

2.) What non-gaming homebrews do you find interesting or fun to play with?

3.) Has anyone experimented with the video player homebrews with fansub avi?

    Thanks for your time all.

Well I am mostly messing with NES and SNES emulators. I like NesterDC and SE.

I have tried DreamSNES, but find it a bit slow and had to pull the memory card out because the emulator would make it beep annoyingly every 10 seconds.

Do any of them perform at the correct game speed than DreamSNES?

Why do people think activity/being newer=speed/reliability/compatability?
If anyone is looking to buy, sell, trade games and support a developer directly at the same time, consider joining Goozex. Enjoy!

I'm not saying that because its newer it means its more speedy, reliable, or has better compatability. =/ I only wanted to know if maybe it played the games at normal speed. I am well aware of the time need to make a program to have all 3 goals met. But, some programers could have started at working on the speed of the program while sacrificing having 100% compatability.

I maybe new to the Dreamcast sceen but I am not stupid. I know emulators like ZSNES, SNES9x, Mame, etc are where there are now because of years of long and hard programing.

Only wanted to know is if those two programs ran faster on DC than DreamSNES. I can live with not being able to play all my favorite games as long as the program moves faster than me.

Both SuperFamicast & SNES4All are almost as fast as DreamSNES, you just need to play around with the settings iirc. Also I am sure that SNES4ALL & SuperFamicast will see some new releases soon.

Until now DreamSNES should be good enuff if you follow some instructions to improve the speed, which can be found here:

    Regarding your questions:

    1) 4All series, GenesisPlusDC and loads of others that still recieve updates from time to time (even after years of inactivity).
Very interesting though not an emulator but still seeing regular updates:

    2) DCPlaya is by far the best media player for DC. (u)DCDivX, ToEleven & GypPlay are great too.

    Some info:

For some nice demos, check out these:

    3) Most likely not supported...

    Okay. Here's a new question.

How do I get games not in the NesterDC SE database, on NesterDC SE?
