Circle Button Problem on PSX Games

When I play PSX games on my PSP, I press the circle button and its acts as if it was the triangle button.
(Example: Circle = Cancel, Triangle = Menu.
I press circle, it brings me to menu, and then I can't get out of Menu because circle won't cancel)
The circle button works fine on everything else, but PSX games.

Please help.
