and why doesn't my university do that...
The University of Wolverhampton has begun a programme in conjunction with Sony Computer Entertainment Europe to offer its students access to professional PlayStation Portable development tools.
Through the PlayStation Portable Academic Development Programme, university staff and students will be able to use the same professional development hardware and software tools available to commercial studios.
"This technology platform that has been made available to us from Sony means that students can now program games and play them on their PlayStation Portable and gain valuable industry skills," commented Stuart Slater, director of the Institute of Games and Animation. "We are very happy that the university will be able to make these available to students in the coming academic year."
Wolverhampton offers a wide range of games and animation courses at its School of Computing and Information Technology and School of Art & Design.
