but really is someone going to take out the 120gb and use it for something else. You could say that the 360 joy-pad is officially supported for the pc with the ps3 is not, so that makes it better. But really who gives a $#@!.

For the average buyer a the HD will be staying where it is.

and Triv1um, is it really a "big big big advantage"? are 1000s people getting ps3 so they can reuse the SATA hd for there pc? no

The ps3s "big big big advantage" is blu-ray and sony exclusive games comming with in the year. Nothing else is a deal breaker.

    I done it.

Brought a bigger HDD for my PS3, then I used the other one in my older laptop.

its means your average ps3 owner won't be messing around with their HDs (note: i did not say all , I said most!)

For example, I'm pondering ripping the 160GB HDD out of my laptop to install into my PS3 to replace it's original 80GB HDD. Only problem is, I want to take all the files off the laptop's drive and stick them on the PS3's (then place it into my laptop) and vice versa. Is that possible?

No. The hard drive will require a format both sides.

Shoot, so I'll need two externals in this case? I might as well just get a completely new HDD to install!
