when i try it on my 2.6 with the gta exploit the screen locks up and goes white and won't come off!!

no, this problem just locks the screen. doesnt change colors or anything. ive noticed its a scene where something quick happens, bush shakes or a sprite is shook on the screen, like in FF3 in the beginning when u get surrounded by guards the person getting surrounded jumps up and down...

This is because there is a weird bug with the TYL intro to do with whether certain other GTA save slots are used or not. You can fix this by either deleting your other GTA save slots or (possibly more preferably) downloading an introless version of 0.4.2:
