I am getting a PSP1003 can anybody tell me what this means, i was wondering if i could find out what region it was and what games it plays, eg jst pal or all and i was also wondering what version this was and whether i could use homebrew on it, Thanks alot. Any help will be much appreciated

surely you should have found this out before you knew you were getting it ??

anyway as far as i know it means it is a PAL european PSP so all games(with firmware of course) but only pal euro movies, okay

it doesnt tell you what firmware, you need the letter code on the label
most probably a 2.0 or higher though

You need to find out the firmware version (1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 2.01 ,2.5 , 2.6, 2.7) to find out if you can run homebrew. All the 1003 is is just the region number which is UK and Australia, do you live in the UK or Australia?

All regions can use homebrew, and the letter is on the left side of the box under "PSP 1003k" and "220-240v"

my 1004 was a 2.6 so id guess 2.5 or 2.6 but if you have BOUGHT the psp and still have the recept....start the psp ...go tosystem steengs...then in there you will see system information..press x on that.....ok see were it says system software version ?.??

thats your firmeware if your trying for a 2.0 and got a 2.01+ just bring it back try agian for the LOWEST # possible

1 currently you can play homebrew on any firmeware BUT 2.7...get a list of working eboots here

and as for 2.7 ...when there is a update worth EXPLOITING ....THAT firmeware will be exploited...( 3.0 is next im guessing.....you can quote me 2)<!-- / message -->
