thats why it seems that sony is taking out memory sticks pro duo 4 and 8 gigs.
i also heard that the maximum capacity of that tiny memory chip could hold maximum of 32GB on storage,(problem is that it will be sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo oooooooooooo expensive to buy it) which means that 4 GB is 200 dollars,8GB for around 350 dollars. and the 32GB = 6400 dollars plus tax available (unless you steal it is free XD ).
so yeah, but later in the future there will be a compressive program to cut huge amounts of MB into MB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol (really, example 500MB compressing to the result of 70MB)
    so yeah, everything is possible........

    cool, this is good news...

Although it would be better if a good emulator was created from the ground up like PSMonkey is doing...
Then again, I guess there would be no point starting something like that if sony really are going to release an official ps1 emulator.

If this emulator is multi-system compatible, it will not be made specifically for the psp, so it will not be as fast as a ps1 emu could be...
I can't see the psp ever getting near 50/60 fps on a ps1 emulator... every single fps will be needed to make it playable.

Man, this would be so great. And we wouldn't have to pay like on the official PS1 emu.

I'm just curious what the relevance of a homebrew PSX on PSP emulator is when Sony is releasing an official one at the end of the year... I'm sure they've got everything worked out with the way the games load and all that. Since they have all the games in their database I doubt they only have the ISO versions on hand as well. I mean yeah, it would be cool if somebody could do it, but I just don't see the point of trying something that Sony is already taking care of...

Because Sony will rip you off for it and make it bloody 2.8 firmware only(!) (Bet theyre already planning it!)
Long live my 1.5 - I look forward to the day I can play my PSX games on the move

okay if the psx emulator currently runs LOWEST at 7fps on the dreamcast as mentioned, im sure it will be way faster on the PSP bcoz the dreamcast is only 200mhz and PSP is 333mhz!

Not the case at all. SNES specifications is far lower than that of the PSP and yet some SNES roms run slow as hell on the PSP.

    Specs for SNES

    CPU: 16-bit 65816 (3.58MHz)
    RAM: 128KB (1Mb), 64KB (0.5Mb) Video RAM
    Graphics: Dedicated graphics processor
    Colors: 32768 (256 on screen)
    Sprites: 128
    Sprite Size: 64x64 pixels
    Resolution: 512x448 pixels
    Sound: 8-channel 8-bit Sony SPC700 digitized sound

As you can clearly see, specs mean almost nothing. It is dependent upon the game being played, the optimizations of the emulator and how well coded the emulator is.
