Is it possible to remove the "system messages" (the messages when you save stats or change sound via r+start, r+analog ect.)

Got the problem that everytime i save/load stats i lose the vsync.

    Default File Browser Suggestion

Great emulator! Glad to see progress still being made. I just had a suggestion to make regarding browsing rom files. It would be very nice if pressing left and right on the D-Pad while browsing the rom list would "page up / page down" the files (Like most other emulators do). When one has a rather large list, it takes forever to get down the list to X/Y/Z.

(Right now when you push left and right on the D-pad it jumps to save states or backs out of the folder).

Just a minor suggestion, but Im sure I cant be the only one who finds this a bit tedius.

Again, thanks for all the hard work! And look forward to future upgrades!

    Thanks for the releases!

    One problem:
With DGen 1.5 the screen turns green after the Sega logo, worked fine with 1.3, playing Berenstain Bears Camping Adventure?

    Any ideas?

Any chance this DGEN 1.50 doesn't work in a 2Gb memstick? Because I have tried with 1Gb and 32Mb and works fine...
but with a 2Gb...displays [when starting the DGEN] 'game could not be started'
Is it some problem in adressing the memory or what...? [it was remaining free 181Mb according PSP or Windows XP]
The 2Gb memstick seems to be ok... when running various large ISO's games like PoPoLo Crois [1.17Gb] and Daxter [1.26Gb]...
and when occurred the crash it has 5 minor ISOs, and all seem to be running fine...

Or am i doing somethin' wrong...?

P.S. I've tried loading and launching gbemu 1.24 in the same situation above [when crashing DGEN 1.50] and gbemu works fine...!!!
what da heck is goin' on...?

THat what your doing is called trolling,

Trolling is posting one post right after another repeatedly when all those bits and peices of information could have been summed up better in a single posting.

Trolling is aginst the rules becuase it makes a thread that was trolled in dissorganized and harder to navigate.

This is just a friendly warning.
Trolling is aginst the rules, In the future try to get all of your questions and information into a single post and give somone time to answer that post befor you reply, Think of forums as a turn based thing, you have to be fair to the others
    WTF!!!
do you even know what you are typing???
i dont know where you read that explanation but that is not trolling. the action you refer to is plain old SPAMMING!
TROLLING is TOTALLY different. TROLLING involves posting hear-say, rumour or unfounded truth and presenting it as fact.
an example of trolling is me posting:
"i have a close friend who works at Sony who has just completed Gran Turismo and it goes Gold in June."
i am presenting a rumour as truth. this is misleading to readers and also confuses fact with fiction. this denegrates the authority of the forum. that is why trolling is banned. classically, this action of misleading people through lies is the action of a troll. hence the term.

    Default Excellent emulator

Fixing these 2 gripes will make this emulator better than PSPGenesis. Until then, I'll still be using PSPGenesis.
    Using firmware 1.50...

I already prefer this emulator to PSPGenesis although I have both on the memory stick.

The only thing that keeps me from killing PSPGenesis is that DGen won't play Warsong (a top five favorite along with Herzog Zwei, Mutant League Football, Powerball, and Desert Strike...and neither emulator is working 100% with Desert Strike).

PSPGenesis sounds a little better (which is a qualitative judgement), but DGen sounds fine (I run both at 22kHz sampling). PSPGenesis also gets the EA logo correct while DGen does not (see the Road Rash or Mutant League games).

Initially, I though PSPGenesis was faster, but that was because I had PSPGenesis on 'AUTO' frame skipping and DGen on '0'. When I set PSPGenesis frameskip to '1' and DGen frameskip to '1' using 'Type F', DGen was hands down faster and looked better. 'Type A' frameskipping with a value of '1' was about the same as PSPGenesis.

Of course, I don't use the six button configuration (never had a six button controller when I owned a Genesis), so that's a wash for me.

I respect the work of both programmers, and was an early adopter of PSPGenesis. I made the switch at version 1.30 of DGen, and it appears that Syn-Z is still hard at work making DGen better. PSPGenesis appears dormant although it worked pretty well right off...not a whole lot of need for improvements unless you like menu bells and whistles. It's a dream come true being able to play Genesis on a handheld. And both emulators run games at completely playable speeds and in full screen with a teensy bit of frameskipping.

Desert Strike still hangs on the intro screen on PSPGenesis, and you get corrupted colors on Dgen. Other than that, all the games I tend to play work fine. Never tried Beyond Oasis...never owned it when I had my Genesis.

Thanks to both Syn-Z and Sougen for making life a little more fun.

good post man (and only your second).
posts like this are a worthy contribution to threads.

i have always been a DGEN player and have wondered about trying out the other MD emu but having read your post i will stay where i am apart from to try out Warsong. i never played the game but if you rate it as one of your top 5 (and the genesis had many top games) then i will give it a go.

keep up the 'good contribution' posts.

    Default Thanks...but I'm just a game player...wish I was smart like Sougen and Syn-Z

Warsong is a turn-based, fantasy tactics game...similar to Fallout Tactics released on the PC...or you could say somewhat like Heroes of Might and Magic without the city building/resource management or King's Bounty (remember that on the Genesis?...proud papa of the Heroes of Might and Magic series) without the overland travel...I liked it but I'm not much of a twitch gamer...

Another good one (that I forgot) is Megalomania (or Tyrants: Fight thru Time as we called it in the U.S.)...one of the first RTS games...nothing better than dropping nukes on a guy that only had biplanes...the biggest difference is that you don't control your units once they're produced...you can just leave them defending your base or attacking the enemy...and the game does it based on tech levels and numbers of attackers/defenders and defensive emplacements with very little animation...therefore, it's not a click fest RTS...it was extremely difficult trying to win the last levels...(tip: If you never played it, always reserve about half the people you have available...your real resource is people...the more idle people you have, the faster they reproduce and the more you can subsequently leave idle (ummm...reproducing), harvesting resources or researching...on the early levels, you don't need all the men available and it reserves the ones you don't use for later levels where you will need them...play the early levels with the bare minimum of people needed to win)

Tech trees and resource management just a little before Dune and a long time before the original Warcraft or C&C...plus, it was weapons from different historical periods (not a great variety but enough to keep it interesting)...you can form (and break) alliances...the Italian guy (Caesar) is great with his 'You wanna come on my side?' effeminate Mario speech synthesis...

Megalomania only works on DGen and was the reason that I added DGen initially...(PSPGenesis loads it and then just goes to a black screen...you can still go to the emulator menu and stuff...ie, it doesn't freeze the PSP...just can't play the game)

Common sense should serve you well enough to know that you wouldnt want one on your bad side, think about this in the future please
Did you say that you were a mod or God? *scratching head* I'm a bit confused...

I'm not exactly sure what a mod does, but there was no profanity in benn's post...and I, for one, learned what trolling is...I thought it was education...the flaming wasn't directed at me so maybe I didn't take it as personally as you did...but I've been called a lot worse than that in other forums and during online gaming...

Just a suggestion...stop taking every post personally...or do it in PM or e-mail world...and be careful with your warnings...

Forums are built on the free exchange of ideas and opinions...obviously some methods of expression have to be moderated, but you really don't want to exercise that power capriciously or you'll lose your forum and be moderating yourself...
