SCEE CEO: PS3 would sell five million even with no games

In a recent interview with Computer and Video Games, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe CEO David Reeves told the Web site he was worried less about moving units at the PS3's launch than he was about maintaining sales after early adopters had purchased their systems. "We have built up a certain brand equity over time since the launch of PlayStation in 1995 and PS2 in 2000 that the first five million are going to buy it, whatever it is, even [if] it didn't have games," he told the site.

u could b right but the ps3 is more powerfull then my computer by far what ppl dont understand here is the ps3 is not only for video games it is a multi media center look at the ps3's xmb menus they r basiclly the same as the psp's it has music, photos,web,chat,buddys, and so on and so on it is insane at what kind of deal they put together it is pretty much buyin a computer i will b able 2 turn on my ps3 surf the web listen 2 some music watch some movies and then play my killzone and other games it will b great no matter what ppl say jus look at the specs it is insane

The only thing the PS3 has over the 360 in terms of technology is a slightly more powerful processer (thought the 360 has a slightly better gpu) and a Blu-Ray drive.

I dont understand why u guys complaining about the price.First of all the system is really powerful,second it can play blu ray already,blu ray player is 1000 dollars.I dont really care what people say about PS3 .LoL even they dont have any game on lunch date there is still a lot of game to play in ps2 u can play in ps3 hahaha

Uh... No. Xbox360's GPU runs at 500mhz, while PS3's runs at 550mhz. As well, X360's overall Floating Point Performance is 1 TFLOP.

PS3's is 2 TFLOPs.

PS3 is far superior to X360 in every single department.
