Programing PSP with Python

Hello,i'm a 2.5 PSP owner (lucky me) and this is my first post.I want to start programing on the PSP but i need some answers so here goes:
i want to know if python works on PSP,i noticed that there are a few LUA apps wich is similar with python.So is it possible?and if it is,is it compatible,i mean is C++ better than Python on the PSP?I know python is a bit slower than C++ does it make a difference on the PSP?

PS:i'm a novice programmer so bare with me here
