I thought these prices were outragous at first, but then I noticed that they were in yen. Believe it or not, this prices are actually pretty typical for these types of specialized novelty stores in Japan (like the Pokemon stores or the Ghibli store in Harajuku). Remember that CD's in Japan typically cost ¥2,800 (how would you feel about paying close to $25 US for every CD you bought?), and that should help bring this pricing into perspective. It's still outrageous, but this isn't the type of store that you would visit regularly, or even every few months. Aoyama is a hoity-toity rich district of Tokyo and pretty much the only types of people who go to these stores are just visiting Tokyo (as opposed to residents). So, if you're visiting Aoyama and you run accross this store, chances are pretty good that the prices aren't going to be much of a shock to you.

Oh so is this a case of the Ye 'Ol Tourist Trap?

You know I own few High-end Electronic devices too, like the iPod™. I almost have to laugh at the Idiots who chuck down almost twice the amount of Cash out for a pair of dodgy Etymotics®'. Oh sure they may be all that, but, the Joke remains. Would such "Audiophiles" be content with only 128Kb/s AAC or worse yet Mp3?

I said it before, and I'm saying it again. If S0NY® could put this much effort into getting Games, Out of the Asain Market and into the European One! Then the PSP™ would be a Hell of a lot better off then it currently is!
