Renaming Player model folders

I got the MC from the alpha demo for the Halo mod

so...then I wanted to retex the MC for all the colors,by doing the texturing and making copies of the folder and renaming to folder to like MasterChief_Black,etc etc

but the textures load,just screwed up

does changing the name of the folder the model files are in screw stuff like that up?

also...btw...the MC folder didn't have a weapon model file or texture,so I copied one for another skin

does anyone have the gun model MC is suposed to have?

btw,if it turns out I need to change something in the model,is there a free editor I can use (cant use demo of milkshape,already used it before)?

i don't know alot on this topic, but are you sure you put all the textures and folders in the right place?

if they werent in the right place,they prolly wouldn't load at all

I think theres a directory saved in the model file,or something like that,so them model files have to be in specific folders to work...I think...

so basically,if thats the case,I'd need an editor...

yea i noticed that there was no weapon for mc but you cant really tell unless u use bsp veiwer

i put in the weapon skin from the q2male, and i used a battle droids model file.

i think that looks the best ,until something better comes along.
