Top 10 Reasons to Relaunch IGN Dreamcast What are these idiots thinking?



May 30, 2006 - Here's a fun fact: IGN is run by a lemur monkey. No, seriously. Once you get past Tal Blevins and above Peer Schneider, there is a monkey sitting alone at a desk in a spacious office. This monkey is the one we see for final approval on our juvenile ideas. He's also one of the toughest monkeys to please. One afternoon we were highly intoxicated with our own stupidity and came to our Boss Monkey with a great idea: A Dreamcast relaunch that would inspire Sega to reinvest in another console.


The monkey loved it. But would only consent if we did it on our own free time, outside of our normal three hour IGN work day. We agreed after Boss Monkey threw poop at David Clayman. So why did we decide to take our relaunch idea to a monkey? Here are the top ten reasons:

10. Our soul still burns
9. Samba de Amigo is proof the Wii is not revolutionary
8. Some wrongs (Oooga Booga - 9.4) must be righted
7. They wouldn't let us relaunch IGN Xbox 360
6. People (three of them) have been begging for this!
5. Ulala came to us in a dream and told us this was our destiny
4. Needed to justify bringing "mascot hedgehog" into the office
3. The Dreamcast didn't fail, we failed the Dreamcast
2. It's what Jesus would do (if he were a gamer and didn't have to die for our sins)
1. We're total idiots
