Buying new wii

I am going to buy a new wii and i have kids. They kill games .... I need to know if there is a for sure way to backup your games and still be able to play them online with other people. I am use to modding. i have done it before with there games and original xbox. I did a soft mod and loved it. I was able to save my games and keep 2 kids away from the originals.

I am wondering the same with wii. I love the concept. Is there any down fall ? Do some games just not play ? does the new firmware cause an issue. I am going to buy new wii and mario kart and the new super mario bro's and 2 other games ...
