hi,
Im considering to install the homebrewchannel on my wii, but I have some concernes. What could go wrong?
Is it possible that my wii wont be useable anymore? What are the other risks, and is installing the homebrewchannel even possible with firmware 4.2?

yes its possible. no, its very unlikely to damage your console. google wiibrew, click the first link and there should be a link to a tutorial to install the hbc. while youre at it download the hb browser too. this will allow you to dl and install apps directly from your wii. as long as you follow instructions id say chance of damage is <.01%.
