Thanks for all the tips guys; I tried some of the free stuff and checked out Norton Internet Security, since I really wanted a package solution. And I stuck with Norton, since it does just what I need.

And I kinda do mind running separate apps - mainly because I heard they would sometimes interfere with one another.)

The only security I've ever used is common sense.

    1timeuser has a great policy,use bootable linux!
Also it's better to keep windows offline IMHO.

    What he said!

I have it installed, too, and have no reason to complain. It installs just fine and then mostly lives a quiet live in the system tray without bothering me.

hmm, for a truely safe pc, dont use the internet, use sneakernet, have your friend print out web pages for you, download files on his pc, scan them, and then thumbdrive them, for e-com use his pc without him knowing lol

Great solution, FrierTuck. I should just make my friend give his PC to me altogether and then use two: One on- and the other off-line.

Failing that, and since Norton has served me well thus far, I thought I'd also ask if anyone has had a chance to try out Norton Internet Security 2007. Any great new features I should want to have?

    I have Norton.
It has caused more problems then it has fixed.
