if the bios can't find the hd, you've got a problem, maybe if you flash the bios it'll help.
PLEASE HELP
Just got new pc with SATA hd , no OS and The BIOS cannot find the HD , so when i attempt to install windows it says there is no HD so installation cannot continue , I might need drivers on a floppy please can anyone help (or find some suitable drivers plz) HELP!!!

Tell me are you experienced with computer components. I may not be broken, just installed wrong try check to make sure the jumper setting for the HD are correct for that wire, this may only apply to PATA, I'm not sure about sata, but a similar thing happened to me when trying to install a new 120gb PATA HD.
if you didn't know (for those reading this who are not as experienced in computers)
PATA = Parallel ATA
SATA = Serial ATA
Make sure that the setting in the bios are allowing the SATA chipset to be enabled. I know many motherboard manufacturers turn off SATA by default, just trying looking around in there.
