if you use video games then do not get a plasma, but if you dont use Video games then plasma is the better picture, although the newest lcds are maybe better
I just want to know your opinion DCEmu people, as I'm thorn within buying a new HDTV or keeping my current one.
New HDTV
- LG 42" plasma HDTV 1080p
Current HDTV
- Polaroid 26" LCD HDTV 1080i
As you see is a big step forward in size but I'm not really sure about the plasma vs LCD thingy.
I've read LCD is brighter and images are sharper but this also makes images look a bit unnatural.
About Plasmas, they're not as bright and images doesn't look sharp, but images seem more natural (I think like a standard TV but in HD)
I'm not a big fan of sharper image, cause most of the times the picture looks worse the higher you adjust the sharpness on the TV, it kinda needs a bit of blur.
It feels a bit like going back, not in size of course, but maybe in quality or being able to watch the TV without any glare from the window.
I'm choosing the one I mentioned because in the price/size/resolution relation is the best offer I've seen (maybe I should search again)
Any comment about this matter will be really helpful
thanks in advance

I think you should get another better LCD TV. However, if you do get a plasma one, just be careful not to land up with the burn-in issue. Check here on the Wiki to see what I mean if in case you didn't know.
Thanks guys, I think I'm leaning towards getting a better LCD or keeping mine, plasma is really out of the question
I'll be using it for videogames a lot, and the new Lcds are way too expensive .
Right now the best one I've heard of is a Sony bravia 32" LCD Full HD which is at the same price as the plasma I wanted to get. I think 32" would be enough.
For the meantime, it might be better that you should do some more research by reading the expert reviews for various brands. It's one way of knowing of the difference between plasma and lcd tv. And correlating the experts rating with the price of the item, you will then be able to estimate as to which is the best LCD TV that will fit your budget. Hope this helps.
LCD has a downside, if you are a fan of the old gun games.
What about this?
