Help with Doom

I have 2.6 firmware. I've been trying for two days and I can't get anything to work. My SNES emulator works fine but for some reason doom won't work. When I downloaded the shareware I followed a guide that said to put the DOOM and DOOM% folders in the game folder of the PSP. After that I put the inst, WADS and SAVE folders and the timidity.cfg and config files in the DOOM folder.

Then I put the DOOM1.WAD file in the wads folder. When I pick DOOM from the eloader nothing happens and the PSP shuts off. When I load the SNES I can look at the DOOM folder and it shows that the wads file is empty but on my computer it's not empty and the wad file is there. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? I searched topics back to July of last year but didn't find any that helped.

for starters if ur running a 2.6 u do not copy the DOOM% folder

The guide I was following said to copy both so that's why I did. Ok I deleted it but it's still now working the wad isn't showing up on my PSP.
