I have 576 MB of freespace on my memory stick. One issue I could think of is that possibly I have too many files on the root of my memory stick? After the downgrade the root was littered with like 60 .txt files.Originally Posted by pspfan
The modchip won't help crack later firmwares.
Later firmwares will be cracked soon, though, because the firmware encryption keys are stored in the kernel memory space and because of the new kernel exploit on 2.6, we will be able to find the new encryption keys. With the new encryption keys, we'll be able to decrypt 2.6, 2.7, and 2.71 and emulate them on DevHook or a similar program.
Just wait until the keys are found. PSPet is currently searching in the 2.6 kernel memory space to find them.

Just got a couple of questions:
1. Is there any need to install 2.0 if you have 2.5 installed?
2. Once you've installed 2.5 is the DATA.PSAR still needed in the root directory or can it be deleted?
P.S. Thanks to everyone who has worked on devhook, Great Job!!![]()
what version you got?Originally Posted by no_pulse
My main firmware is 1.5 and I've installed 2.5 for devhook.
no_pulse, no you don't need 2.0 really. And you can delete the DATA.PSAR once you've run the installer.
cheers mate, thought i'd check before I caused any serious problems![]()
yeah, your fully set now
If I need to reformat my memory stick would it still work if I pasted all the files back on or would I have to reinstall the firmware?
Also if I wanted to use another memory stick could I copy the folders over to that aswell or would I have to start from scratch?
