as long as all the files are present and correct it will work.

when you install, all you are doing is copying the correct files to your memory stick, there is no psp modification whatsoever.

best thing to do is just put the devhook app on a small memory stick (i got it on a 256mb) then just use that one for UMD playing and your most used homebrew, like links2 etc

I recently downgraded from 2.6 to 1.5 and I've got all the progs running that I wanted to, but I'm having some probs with Devhook.

The games I'm trying to run on UMD are Monster Hunter and Street fighter Alpha 3 (both are UK versions with 2.6 update). Has anbody got these games to work? ...or is it just me being a muppet?

Well i downgraded from 2.6 to 1.5 and now i got probs setting up dev hook i did the firmware and everything once i go to start up a game and when i do the screen goes black and turns off anyone can give me advice i've tried ver. .22 .40 .41 and it doesn't work i would appreciate some help^^ i really wanna play my 2.00+ games again

Have you tried reformatting your memory stick after downgrading because a few people have found that it has helped with homebrew loading problems..

Just remove the files you dont need eani of them after you downgrade ther just taking space and will not be used again

I did this after I downgraded and it was fine but I'm wondering if we still need those files on the root of our memory stick after we've run DH installer and devhook is up and running.

the "dh" file goes in the root of the mem stick, the two files go in the GAME folder.

unfortunately i dont know anything about the firmware install as i got the first "illegal" release which was preinstalled with everything...
