    Mine is modelnumber 1001 or was...LOL... It had no number in the umd area...

    Ouch.

    For what it's worth, I didn't format my memory stick before running the downgrade, instead I just copied everything over wholesale from the PSP-hacks archive. I had around 400MB free and was running from a near-fully charged battery.

    Like you, the screen went blank and the memory stick access light flashed intermittently for a couple of minutes - but in my case a blue screen came up saying the settings were corrupted, press O to continue. After that it went into the new install routine, asking about timezones and the like, then it ended with a "cannot read from UMD" error.

    That was with a UK PSP-1003G1, factory 2.50 with a 2.60 upgrade applied just before running the 2.60 downgrader.
