Fluff has posted that a new free version of the Shell for the PSP is coming soon and this news:

Psix upon next beta release, will include a fully functional and full featured backup system. Psix will now save your configurations, so no having to setup your stuff again after exiting psix, additionally, the audio player will be upgraded with a fully functional playlist with save/load playlist functionality, as well as a fully operational audio visualizer.
Homebrew scanning has been modified so that the old bug of multiple instances of the same application is no longer an issue.

The release will be sometime in the future although its not known when.

Wow, remember all the fuss people used to make over shells?

They just seem kind of quaint now.

WORK ON ONE OF THE HUNDRED SHELLS ALREADY RELEASED!!

Do we really need 99 half assed shells when people can start working together and make 5 or 6 ****ing awesome shells?

When PSIX was first released, I gave it a bad rap due to the way they were releasing it. It seems now though that things are not going aswell as they hoped, but they keep plodding on, creating a high quality GUI. I just wish someone would finally surpass the quality of the original OS that sony provided, which is not pretty and allows for no advanced user control, like skins and so forth.

Wraggster: This is an iso loader. Taken from their web page (http://www.lostnovice.com/):

Psix upon next beta release (no time frame planned yet), will include a fully functional and full featured backup system (often reffered to as an iso loader), launching your backed up umds directly from the shell itself, and returning to the shell when exited (for up-to-2.60 games).

They've obscured the text with images, so you either have to select-all, copy and paste the text, or view the source code, but the bottom line is that this is unworthy of PSP-News.
