Welcome to rainy, dark, electrical storm-plagued Dromund Kaas, the Sith Empire's seat of power during the time of Star Wars: The Old Republic.
The Sith Empire colonized Dromund Kaas in ancient times, eventually losing track of the hyperspace coordinates to the world, which is just the sort of wacky thing you'd expect the Sith to do. After being completely crushed in the Great Hyperspace War, the surviving Sith spent 20 years trying to find the planet again. If you ask me, they should have installed a car alarm, so they could just click on the thingy and follow the beeping sound.
How do you lose an entire planet? The only thing worse is losing two planets. That's right Capcom, I'm looking at you.
Anyway, the Empire has spent a good century getting things back up to speed, with the Emperor performing dark rituals that transformed the atmosphere into a crackling electric storm, which is why they can't have nice things.
