the 1.5 firmware "downdater" folder, as I don't have a 1.5 firmware psp I have no other way of obtaining the folder....

go to www.psp-hacks.com if you are looking to downgrade Download ethier the 2.50 package or 2.60 package all the files are included even the downdater folder you need. Make sure your psp wasnt already preinstalled with 2.60 and if it came with 2.50 upgrade to 2.60. Hope that helped ya.

Nice one! I was wondering if the upgrade to 2.6 was a vital step but as yourself and bullhead have mentioned this in seperate threads i shall do that immediately and then downgrade tomorrow.....

Although I know what I am doing I am still concerned with brick possibilty

If you know what you are doing and are confident then it will be downgraded in about 2-3 mins.

brilliant, might even do it here at work, how long to upgrade to 2.6? and wheere can i get a reliable 2.6 upgrade...?

to upgrade to 2.60 takes about 2-3 mins. Make sure you have your battery fully charged and ac adaptor plugged in. Get the upgrade from psp-hacks.com lol go to the downloads section then it will say firmware. Find it in there.
