the game itself is actually pretty horrible but everyone raves about the story.

actually I played it already. Never beat it, and I thought it was pretty good. Stands no chance to KH tho!
And i wont deny it isnt very good compared to most now-day games

Heh, you got ripped. I have a MINT CONDITION one I got from christmas a long time ago. If it's worth that, then damn, I can f*cking sell this SWEET.
And actually, second best RPG belongs to Kingdom Hearts 1&2.
First:Super Mario RPG. End. Of. Freakin'. Sentence.
Third best:Secret of Mana
Fourth best:FFV
Fifth best(s):FFs 1,2(j),3(j)
Sixth best(s):FFs 8&9
Seventh best(s):FF4&6
Eighth Best(s):Chrono Trigger and the Mario and Luigi saga.
Ninth best:Wild Arms 3 (that was fuuuuun.)
Tenth Best: Guild Wars Prophecies and Factions.
As you can see, no FF7. It was an overhyped, bad movie spewing piece of crap. Guarenteed to waste a good bit of your time. The only cool thing was Cait Sith.

SPOILERS FOR FF7 AND FF3/6! For those who read carefully.
Feh. The storyline was the same for all the f*cking RPGs at that time, for god's sake. The hero. Used to be a warrior for the evil he now hates. Joins resistance. Meets girl. Evil guy from the evil kills the girl. Hero is emo, vows to kill evil guy. Kills evil guy, end.
Same as FF3/6, only the girl was being controlled. And the evil didn't kill the girl. The evil destroyed the world. Girl dies at end saving world. Feh.
Come on, people!
