When i released Halo 2d ONLY HERE! i go there about a week after and find that it has been posted there. I was a bit excited thinking maybe i may get some publicity but i sort of loathed them for stealing it. Anyway, I look at the comments for the 2nd alpha(the one i released on the 14th) and FLAME FLAME FLAME!!!!! I was so pissed i let loose on them as well(i cannot find my post for some reason nemore). One of them was like, "A 15 year old could code this easy) lol, well, i am 15. And then another said "Hey, its me and my buddy, we just got back from the future and have great news! We got Halo 2d beta 4 and you can actually shoot" what a f**king dumb@$$. He didnt even bother downloading it to see that you already can shoot. Made him look like an @ss. Another person said "Anyone can easily code this in 30 seconds", sure, if you can type over 415 lines of code in 30 seconds without knowing any of it, or even if you did know all of it. Yet another person wrote, "All these LUA coders just do this so they can try to make a name for themselves, anyone can print a picture to a screen." Yeah, can they make it move with great animation with transparency, and can they make it shoot, scroll backgrounds, move left and right, jump...with gravity. make a healthbar that works, make an ammo system, that works, make a menu that actually goes to the game, and can go back to, can add music to said menu, can make credits at the end, i think not. I basicly told them that they suck
d!ck and to stop stealing news from DCemu because if I wanted my stuff to get flamed i would have posted it there myself. I also commented on the fact that their users were so harsh to starting developers and that if they spent half the time they spend complaining and flaming on breathing, they might have a brain cell or two to think with. *TAKES DEEP BREATH* so i think they should all keep to their little hell hole and let us be.

Yeah, I remember reading all that you posted back at them...LMAO!!! They deserved every word man. Good job.

Hey isn't it funny how they always start the news over there with:

    "Put-your-name-here, from our forums..."

...they steal news, and even make you part of their dreaful community when you're really not....They're so full of it.

Time to put my say into this:

Welcome to the Internet. If you release something publically at one site, chances are that it will spread. (E.g Digg, Slashdot, Joystiq etc).

PSPUpdates is mainly an end user site. End users don't give a damn about how good/long the code is. They will download the release, play it and if it wasn't what they were expecting, complain. For example, I could write an fast tile map 'renderer' and a character with animation to walk around it. From a developer's point of view, it would be of some interest as it hasn't been used much in Lua games. From the end users point of view, it is an image walking round another image. When you make releases you have to take into account of what the lowest end user would think and that involves detaching yourself from the project (which can be hard to do).

The forums in QJ.net seem to be a lot better, just ignore the comment system and head straight to the forums. Chances are that QJ.net are probably reviewing the current system and if enough developers complain directly to them, it could change.
