The public want a Psp phone and it could make a load of money, so knowing Sony's history they never gonna make it.
According to an interview of Bert Nordberg, president, Sony Ericsson has reached again the point that every gamer dreams of it, a possible PSP phone. They reported that there was no link between them and the PSP, but we can hear a lot about this project soon.
http://translate.google.ro/translate...-adevarat.html"We missed the window for high-end and touchscreen devices big time," Nordberg admitted. "Part of the recovery will be much better design and closer work with our partner Sony... In the past there was no tie-up between us, the PSP platform and Sony, but you can expect to hear much more about that."

I thing that this isn't right. PSP is a gaming console, not designed, or ever transformed to a phone.
Actually, Sony Ericsson might be (IS) planning on putting the PSN Network on their future phones in order in response to Microsoft and their new Windows Phone 7 OS with the integrated Zune and Xbox Live functions onto the OS.
They stated that they are willing to work with the parent company in other to strengthen the different brands. I can imagine a Sony Ericsson phone with a touch screen and "PSP" style controls (No PSP branding) intergrated with the PSN Store and a "Walkman" Media store.
Last bit is my own opinion, but there are some possibilities, although Sony always has a way of letting us down with extremely cool products.
They should focus on PSP Go... It sales are... down.
It could be the same failed project like the Nokia N-Gage. There even was some rumors when the PSPGo was still under development that it was gonna have a SIM card slot
