you don't need a vmu to run homebrew/ emulators on the dreamcast. Just burn you GBA emu on to a cd (via say bootdreams or dchakker) and you can disc swap with the cd with the game on it
I have a small question. I'm pretty sure I know how to do everything else, but I can't seem to find the answer to this.
Alright, a few years ago my brother burned backups of my gameboy color games because my Gameboy Advance was in the repair shop. He did it so I could play them on Sega DreamCast.
I have two different types of memory cards:
VMU -- the kind with the screen
Memory card -- kind without the little screen.
Do I really need the VMU in order to burn my backup Gameboy/snes games on Sega Dreamcast or can I use any memory card?
Thanks for reading!

Oh, so I can save my progress on my other memory card (Non-VMU)? My brother said it only works with a VMU.
Which of the two should I use?
Bootdreams or Dchakker?
Also, would I have to put a emulator for the game on a separate disc?
