Again, sometimes later firmwares have been updated, while older ones aren't. You just never know...

Anyways, since I am almost definately updating for 3.0 I might as well update now anyways.

i like sony for the thing that they wont give up...if it was me...and i made psp and released fw after fw that got hacked hacked and hacked...i would have given up long time ago. i think they should allow homebrew ..but the thing is...when homebrew is enabled..ppl are using iso loaders...piracy. thats the thing sony wants to stop..to bad that it is one for all, all for one.
i relaly hope that sony doesnt give up ;D maybe they could try meeting the brewers on the way.

i wont upgrade right now either tough.

Just give it 2 days and Dark Alex will make a dump of this update ready for us to use with the devhook...

I have an idea. What if someone ran the updater on there 2.71 devhook firmware. Wouldnt that just rewrite the 2.71 files and u could boot 2.71 through devhook to get the 2.80 firmware to run? Just a thought.

Sony US is always slow to update their page. YourPSP and the JP Update site, both have it on there, and it is available via Network Update.

i think they should wait for 3.0 for the next dev hook if all games can be played at the moment then why fix whats not broken all it means is more encryption for later sony updates

Trying to update via DevHook won't work, so don't continue asking.

Is there any homebrew released for PS1? If so, at the start of 3.0 and with the release of the PS1 emulator homebrew could be possible again for the newbs who upgraded.

If you have to buy official games from Sony, do you really think they are going to let us buy homebrew from them?
