Having the ability to write files in FrodoDS has kept me from playing one of my favorite games - Pool of Radiance - I even still have the Translation Wheels. I can't get to the game because I can't save the characters that I create. And I haven't found a version of Impossible Mission that I can get through without it locking up. Aside from that I absolutely enjoy FrodoDS! I've been playing the heck out of games I haven't seen in such a long time. Thanks again. If anyone has any solutions to the above problems please let me know.

The way I make all my games work is to left shoulder - select file.
Now say your game starts with A (Archon.d64)
    type: LOAD "A*" ,8,1

    and then

    RUN

this works perfect for me, i never get the error ?drive not found - because you are telling it how to load the game.

    good luck

Of course thats a great tip and helps people (especially c64 noobs ) who get the 'File Name Not Found' error, however 'Device not Found' is a separate issue that usually means you don't have Roms in the RD folder or you are missing the 1541 rom.

I forget, is there a way to "insert" text? Because you could hit Right Shoulder then scroll up and insert the letter of your game, then hit run.

    So... Just checking...
Will the Alter Ego games run and save, then be able o be reloaded at a later date?

It may run, but as to saving, I doubt it. The DS version of frodo has no way to save snapshots. Some games have been reported to actually save using the in game saving, but my only personal experience is with a game called Expedition Amazon by Penguin Software.
All we can do is pray that GPF hasn't lost interest in this port. Even as is it's great fun but saves would make this emulator #1 IMO.

np, GPF and good to see you.

I was just wondering, and I'm not being pushy, mind. Are you still working on frodoDS?
