Actually there was about six months between a major update awhile ago,It was the one that not only added sound but speed.
I'm not talking about time, I'm just asking if he is still considering or looking into an update.![]()
6 months without an update, sounds like lack of interest. Or it might be something else, anyway, how about an update on where things are with this emu. Hate to see it just slip away, one of my faves. Cheers

So it could be that he has done an update, maybe a major one, and he's just putting the finishing touches to it. We can only hope......
It's been almost one year since the last upadte. Let's cross our fingers for an anniversary release...
Hey everyone, new to the game here but FrodoDS is an amazing tool and I'm looking forward to tinkering around with it.
I'm running it on a CycloDS Evolution (auto DLDI patching) and have had quite a bit of success so far. I've been using the 30507 version but just found the 83007 and am going to give that a shot next.
I haven't worked through the whole thread yet for tips, but I removed the maniac mansion file path from the config file and that seems to help. I've also tried using only 8 letter filenames for the disk images, as well as trying several ways to get programs to run: LOAD"*", LOAD"(first letter):", etc. I've gotten quite a few games to run well, and that's without doing anything else to the config.
The best occasion so far was getting Airborne Ranger to run. It's one of my all time favorite games and runs excellent with just a bit of slowdown (which actually isnt bad since it's a keyboard heavy game).
Mega props to Troy for this project. This is an amazing piece of software, and it's huge for this child of the 80's to be able to carry a C64 around in my pocket!
I think i must be being a bit dim, it works fine but can't load a game . . . device not found . . . have a missed something?
Regards
Andy
Looks like it's pretty dead around here but I wanted to add a couple more thoughts.
Some C64 games required you to use a specific joystick port and keep the other one empty because it actually stole memory from the open port. Not sure what games exactly, but I think this may have been the case on a couple Microprose games (maybe others). Disabling one of the joyports and port swapping in the .fpr file may help get a stubborn game running.
I got Below the Root to successfully disk swap and save (and restore!) using the latest build. It also runs smooth as silk. Not sure why this one seems to run so well, way better than any other multi-disk games I've tried so far.
Finally, if anyone has gotten The Magic Candle to run, would you mind sharing how? This is one of my all time favs. It seems to load ok at the beginning, but then crashes at the first disk swap. 1541 Emulation gets the status bar loaded after the swap but the game still hangs (and loads slower than dirt until then). Any comments would be appreciated.
