    1541 Emulation turn on?

if so, maybe make a snapshot of the game and name it jjr.jss and put it in the /rd folder, mount the d64, and then press X key to boot the snapshot.

The snapshot gets me to the game start of Neuromancer but then it goes to a blue screen and it sits there. Tried the on the PC it is does the same thing. Thinking maybe my rom is bad. I can get it to work with other emulators nut no frodo. Which i thought it had worked on. And the emulation being off is what was causing the others to not work right. Harm|

I was just thinking, if u can easily load a snapshot by pressing x, could you not save a snapshot by another button, maybe select. just a thought..

Not sure if everyone but me is already doing this, but dsorganizer is a good way to switch between snapshots or pref files. Use its file browser to rename the files on your ds so you don't have to swap your files between your pc and ds.

I used pc frodo to get my snapshot, then use dsorganizer to rename it jjr.fss after renaming the old jjr to gamename.fss (I just load it first if I forget what game it was). Same method can be used to quickly switch preference files if your testing if something needs 1541emu or not, etc. A lot quicker than swapping files between pc and ds I'm new to this whole homebrew thing so maybe there is some other way, but this works good so far.

For some strange reason, frodods has got me more interested in the c64 again than pc frodo. Think because on the PC I want to play my newer games, but on the ds the c64 games still look good and play good.

    Yeah i'm the same way

Thats an awesome suggestion to use DSO for. Right now the plan is to all booting snapshots from the left trigger file selection list, if the extension is .jss then it will boot it as a snapshot. Eventually will have a gui to select the different option in the pref files as well, just not really good at doing menus/guis so that will be awhile.

I would like to get saving working but so far haven't been able to debug why its not working yet.

    I had a successful save! <faints>

Playing Shogun, I used the game's save function. Then moved my character to another place on the screen (different location in game) and tried the load function and was back at my savepoint. I then turned the DS off and then back on, loaded the game, and was still able to load the save.

I had tried this with Below the Root and the game's save/load worked while I kept the DS and the game on, but after DS reboot the save wouldn't load up and the screen got corrupted. Autoduel would let me save but my guy was always dead after reboot or after restarting the game from the game's menu without a reboot.

I have no clue why Shogun works and others don't. All were d64 files. Shogun is 1 disk while AD and BtR were 2. Later I'll try to find some more 1d games with save functions to see how work for me. Card I use is the R4DS.

Saves on Beyond Wolfenstein and Gunship hose my dsk images so I have to copy over new ones to play them again.

Just surprised that one worked since the others didn't. Off to enjoy the ones that don't require a save and to find more games I used to play.

The c64 emulator starts fine. I can select an *.d64 image but when I try to load somehting from it I got an "device not ready" message.
    Any clues?

Try using the left trigger to reselect it. I used to have to sometimes double or triple select them to get them to run. I then edited my frodo.fpr (preferences file) and removed "maniacmansion_2.d64" from the line that says "DrivePath8 = maniacmansion_2.d64" so it was just "DrivePath8 =". Now it works with just selecting it once. Sometimes it is a bad rom too and you need a different copy.

Firstly, Thanx GPF for a FANTASTIC app.
At last, I get to play my old C64 faves like Starglider, Panther and Bruce Lee again.

Quick Q for everyone else on the board though, I've tried every .d64 (and now .t64) of the following games but can't find any that work:

    ACE
    Auf Wiedersehen Monty
    Thrust

Has anyone found roms of these that work with the latest FrodoDS and R4/M3Simply?

Back to the prog, I've set the frameskip to 3.5 and find the trade off between speed and screen flicker acceptable. 3 is slightly slower but easier on the eye , but I even found 4 to be OK on most games.

Overall, thanx for this great emu and keep up tthe good work.
