    xbox 360 250GB Xbox 360 HDD costs £64.99 [UPDATE] Its £80 now ;)

    via Eurogamer

The new 250GB Xbox 360 hard drive will cost £64.99 here and not £79.99 as once thought.

That's according to Xbox Community Manager Graeme Boyd, who also revealed that a data transfer kit will be bundled with the new drive, allowing content to migrate from old to new.

"You probably saw the announce of the 250GB Xbox HDD, but just to confirm: It is coming to UK/Europe, RRP is £64.99/99.99 Euro," Tweeted Boyd, aka AceyBongos.

"Lower the pitchforks and douse the torches - the 250GB does come with a data transfer kit. Sorry for the confusion," he chirped.
The 250GB Xbox 360 hard drive will sell from 16th April in the UK.

Before then, Microsoft will lower the price of existing 120GB HDD drive to £80. Yes, that's more expensive than 250GB drive that arrives in under a month. We're checking 'why'.

    Update

Actually MS is saying £64.99 was a mistake, It really is £80

    Microsoft have poor marketing.

One reason why I love both SONY and Nintendo, plus the fact they're good old Japanese companies.

Has Bill Gates been assassinated or something? Because peripheral prices are actually becoming slightly less of a ripoff and even allowing content to be put on a 16gb flash drive.

still not interested in buying it, I think the extra 16gb via memory stick is more interesting, i can use one of my old pendrives to give my 20gb a bit more room. Anyway I have had little problems with my 20gb so far, no really need to get a bigger HD, bar laziness (could not be arsed deleting old stuff on hd)

edit: it seems that £64.99 was a mistake, its back to £80. updated news post

Wtf? So it's £80? That sucks. £65 is a better price though a capacity like is actually cheaper than that (2.5 Sata laptop drive itself with no proprietary shell that is).

They're selling for £65.99-£69.99 on eBay, the sellers that have "DONT GET BANNED BUY REAL" on their listings. Somewhat amusing if they're the genuine Microsoft hard drives (since they rag on about not buying Chinese), because the sellers who are quick to sell before the 16th April date wont be making the full retail price.
