Chances are that you have named the file
XXXX.cmd.txt
but since windows likes to hide extensions by defualt, you can't see .txt.

Go to:
Tools->Folder Options->View
and uncheck "Hide Extensions for known filetypes"

Click Apply, then Apply to All folders then OK.

In the batch file, it should be:

luaplayer NameOfLuaScript.lua
pause

Once you can view the extensions, then you rename the file AND the extension
