I'm telling you wont brick your psp. Especialy with me making sure you don't screw up. And if you do exactly as i say theres no chance of bricking your psp. lol Plus after your done you will enjoy your psp more. Now its not a the matter of you being worried of bricking your psp because on my watch you wont, But its the matter of do you want to put the time into getting it all set. Just think about the good things Faster emu's, New great features from custom firmware, Recovery mode pretty much makes your psp emortal from any software damage or Brick. And using dev hook to emulate 2.71 allowing you to play ever psp game on the market. After i was done and got dev hook all up and running i ran out and bought Tomb Raider Legend, and Daxter. Trust me it was worth the work. And not to mention i'll be there to supervise what your doing and make sure no mistakes accur. So think about it and tell me what you want to do.

k Well there is one way for sure you can tell. Open your UMD slot on the psp and look through it from the back if there is gold bold letters on the top right back of the mother board then its a TA-082 but if there is none then it can be downgraded. And if your really worried about it post a pic so i can see.

What do you mean? Yes its in gold bold letters on the psp motherboard that you can see from the back of the UMD slot its on the top right corner of the psps back side of the mother board and no you don't have to take apart your psp to see it.

    ha ha, o.
yeah the letters can be seen by opening the umd drive and can be seen on the right side and it can be seen perfectly.
if not shown, the old model has letters behind the metal thingy. this model can be downgraded the other not, sadly
