if you look in your config file does it say for it to boot to devhook?I'm gonna look for the harleyg readme and see what the actual boot to command is.I use dark alex's and don't know if the config file boot command is the same.

edit the part that says boot on holding x to a program you have in the games folder to see if it will boot on startup when you hold x.Also when it autoboots into devhook does it auto start the emulated firmware or does it give you the devhook menu?
