my 360 isnt that bad but then again i have only just got it, my brothers on the other hand (he got his when it came out) is quite noisy.
I think the cd reader can be quite noisy as well when it wants to be, but then again it depends if the cd is in good nick or not!

I got it when it first came out and it does get hot, but it's never crashed or anything.
