Default Got a used psp, trying to upgrade to 2.6 via UMD

I know he was using ELoader, and when i got it i tried to play metal gear acid 2, and it said it needed to update from 2.5 to 2.6. So i tried to, and it says that it can't upgrade because the data is corrupt, with no error code. Is there anything i can do to update? I'm going to try and download the update once he brings the usb cable over.

dont you want to update to 2.6 to downgrade to 1.5 (devhook lets you emulate 2.71)

Its illegal to upload any firmware eboots on any site (outside Sony's official one) and dcemu won't allow links to it. However if you were to pm him a link I'm sure we'd look the other way.
