the is already DCdosbox, that was ported over a while ago. The problem is the dc small ram size (16mbs) and the emu would take 0.5- 2 mbs, so that only leaves 14mbs to run the pc game

Is there any chance of getting this ported to the DC? I just stumbled upon it today. It appears that it isn't memory intensive. If this could be ported, think of the possibilities. As long as they don't exceed the memory on the DC, you can play any Dos based game.
So, any thoughts?

I know about DosBox DC. I don't have a keyboard or mouse for my DC, so I can't use it. Even if I was able to run it, there was the problem you mentioned about RAM limitations. FreeDos is supposed to be very light on RAM. This following quote was taken from Wiki on the FreeDos site. "FreeDOS was designed to be compatible with all PC hardware, from systems as low as the XT and systems with as little as 640k memory."
I believe that FreeDos could be a much better alternative to DosBox DC. FreeDos is itself an OS. I believe that it is all open source. This could open up a whole new world for the DC!
FreeDOS is only designed to run on x86 hardware, much like the original MS-DOS. Even if you were to port it away from that, which would take significant effort, you wouldn't be able to run any MS-DOS programs on top of it anyway, since they're all for x86.
Simply put, FreeDOS by itself is pretty pointless on the Dreamcast. You really need an x86 emulator sitting underneath, which is where DOSBox comes in.
