PS3 Please Help

Hey,

We were playing modern warfare two and half way through the game the system freezed. sinse this has happened the ps3 wont work now. if it does boot up the tv screen just has vertical lines on it with full sound. or nothing at all.

Can you please help me out with some advice.

The ps3 is an old one before they brought out the slimline.

Sorry to say this, but it sounds like your GPU is either cooked or has been slowly de-soldered from the motherboard. Perhaps you have one of the 1st generation PS3s that ran very hot.

You have three options:

1.) Perform a heat reflow or have someone more experienced do it.

2.) Pay Sony whatever they charge for repairs. They'll most likely send you an entirely different (and perhaps cheaper) PS3.

3.) Sell it off for parts/repair and buy another PS3.
