    In the case of N64.

    Microcodes or ucodes are small librarys writen for the RCP to acomplish set task for rendering & audio.

    In N64 emulation, since we do HLE on the rcp versus emulating instruction by instruction, we need to simulate every posible microcode (this leads to many inaccuracy in games).

    On M64, I dont have a pre define list saying what microcode each game should use. So the user (that be you) is forced to set the correct microcode to allow the games to run properly.
