Thanks I'll try that. Is the config file with the pack somewhere? Or can I uninstall it with something in the pack? That's in the tutorial, I'll look.
I think it means that it is already installed on ur system cause when u formated ur ms it didnt uninstall the custom firmware it just removed the config file all u have to do it put it back and it will work again i think i have never done that before, formatting my ms that is.Originally Posted by tzp2gameknight

i actually have a question on what this is? is it an actual custom firmware that replaces the sony one? Or is it one thatr you run off your memory stick< or is this one for the mod chip??? sorry for the clueless questions.
it doesn't replace it, it just mods it so u have more/different features, like recovery mode(which unbricks minor/partial bricks if u have the custom fw already installed on ur psp before it bricks), dual boot with the wifi switch, auto boot for a homebrew game or emu, or just an app...custom fw pnwsOriginally Posted by Gene

i would say that it is legal because it doesnt actually use any sony copyright code at all. all it does is replace one file. they would argue that its breaking the law to change there firmware but then so is running homebrew so...i think its safe to say it is legal.
Hello I have a question.
I have Dark_AleX's Proff of Concept installed and I followed Harleyg's instruction by copying the files vshmain.prx & recovery.elf to the root of my memory stick. I restarted and pressed the R button and the recovery mode opened. Currently there are 3 choices for me
1. Press start to activate USB Mass
2. Press triangle to flash ms0:/index.dat to flash0.
3. Press cross to start the program under ms0:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE/EBOOT.PBP
Press home to exit.
I'm not sure which should I press to install properlly the mod by Harleyg
Please help.
thats the older version of the exploit. you must use the original exploit remover to remove that version then install harleyg's from the beggining.
