psp Different file formats supported by the PSP

Not counting home brew games, Emulators witch depending on the emulator is the type of file you will use for the ROM set , & the not so popular and controversial ISO. The PSP currently plays games on UMDs (Universal Media Disc's). Sony plans a Play Station emulator for the PSP, which will be able to play game Roms off a Memory Stick. This emulator will be for the PSX. Now we all know the emulators we can play and the ones that are a working project.

    Video:
    UMD
    MPEG-4 (aka MP4)

Aside from movie and music videos available commercially on UMD, the PSP can also play video files from the Memory Stick. These files must be in MPEG-4 format.

    Music:
    UMD
    MP3
    ATRAC3plus
    MP4
    WAV
    WMA
Music can come on UMD (though usually it comes in the form of music videos). You can also load up your own music to play, as long as it's in one of the formats listed (you may not be able to play some of the file formats if you're using a Memory Stick Pro Duo, though; only the Memory Stick Duo is compatible with all file formats).

    Photo & Image:
    UMD
    jpeg (aka jpg)
    tiff
    gif
    png
    bmp
Anything that comes on a UMD can be played on a PSP, images included. Images don't have to be photos, either; any image files saved in a compatible can be viewed on the PlayStation Portable.

Very helpful once again Acidburn. For PSP video, you may want to add AVC MP4...

it might be helpful if you include the minimal firmware requirements for this list
    i.e.
UMD - vairous (determined by UMD)
    mp4 - any
    avc mp4 - 2.0+
    wma - 2.6 +
