Default G6 lite tips.....Heads up for Apple users too ;)

I'm a mac user so running PC programs used to be a nightmare. Currently I'm running Virtual PC on my iMac and think I noticed something worth mentioning.

I've spent the last few days converting all my DS and GBA games with the G6 software 4.3a so that I can just plug my flash drive into my iMac and drag and drop any files that were converted. Anyhow, I noticed that I could select my C:/ drive instead of the G6 flash card!! Upon start up of the G6 PC software it asks you what drive is the G6 lite, so instead I picked my hard drive drive C:/! This resulted in MUCH faster conversion in my DS and GBA games. Infact, it just converted 440 MB (10 DS games) in just a few mins!! Just thought I'd share my findings.

Could this possibly be a harddrive has a faster write speed than a USB port?

Exactly , the usb flashdrive(burner or whatever they call it) can't write as fast. I'd rather convert all my games and than drag and drop the files myself instead of using the G6 software to install games on my card. It just takes too long

This is one of those 'DUH!' threads.
The same thing can be done with the Supercard/M3 patching software as well as the EFA Linker II software.
I've been doing it for months now.
You just change the target drive/directory in the options menu of most patching software.
I'm on a Mac as well, but all my DS/GBA ROMs and Homebrew sit on a Server 2003 box which I just use Remote Desktop on whenever I want to use all that PC-only software.

Hmm, the games show their box art. Is this something you have done yourself or a feature of patcher software? I'd love to see boxarts of my games in my PC. Is there a way? (Other than downloading each box art, changing it into a ico and assigning it :P )

It's easy as hell to do within OS X. No special tricks.
