Downgrade, then emulate 2.71.
Say, does anyone know who to get the Talkman Mic working? I've been using the Socom Mic with it, cause the Talkman USB Mic doesn't work with Devhook.
Downgrading is pretty easy... I was really worried about nothing when I went from 2.0 to 1.5, and from 2.6 to 1.5... Easy Peasy![]()
Downgrading that what all people want
I just have a quick question which I think I know the answer to and it's probably not for sure right now but here goes: I have a 2.6 that is NOT a TA-082 but I don't have GTA. Will I be able to use this downgrader on my 2.6? And by the way downgrade over eloader anyday. Also, does this exploit break any ground on 2.8 being able to be emulated through devhook?
yes if someone makes oneOriginally Posted by mavsman4457
Just remember about the overhead...
I'm not sure exactly how this kind of thing works, maybe someone can clear it up for me...
But I'm going to say it's a cache thing. Or perhaps just standard memory usage, isn't sufficient, but eloader on 2.60, had some speed problems.
Eloader is awesome, and it provided me with Doom, gbc emulator, etc when I was running a 2.60, But SNES emulators etc were very slow, but on 1.50, they are full speed.
So downgrading, not only can you emulate 2.71 anyway, but there will be no overhead, resulting in all applications running full speed.
Something like that.
The reason that you didn't have fast emulators on your 2.6 was probably because it cannot use the ME.Originally Posted by **1_Man_Matrix**
Not just emulators, programs like Quake ran slow aswell. Hmm, kernal access probably would have helped alot tooOriginally Posted by mavsman4457
Was still awesome though.
That's exactly right. The reason you could not use ME was because kernal access was for fw 1.0-1.5 only.Originally Posted by mavsman4457
This new exploit should theoreticaly allow for kernel access which puts a 2.6 on the same level as a 1.5 if all goes smoothly.
As for downgrading, I bought my PSP in May and I still have not downgraded. I love my PSP and it wasn't a simple thing for me to just pony up $230+ for a handheld gadget. I'm glad I did, I was going to spend close to $400 on a pocket pc which did less than the PSP. I get to watch movies, browse the web, listen to music, read pdf books (chm reading is possible if you convert it to PDF using acrobat), emulate other consoles, and play homebrew games.
Why would I want to jeopardize such a good thing right now when I don't even have the inclination to play a UMD game? Why would I want to possibly destroy something that is working fine and will work even better once an eloader is made that supports kernal access?
