bad news: i still cant find a job and still for some unanswered reason my psp has become a 2.80 -_-

Well i followed directions exactly and it took me three ties to get the red screen and then the psp shut off.

I couldnt turn it on so i poped out the battery and now when i turn it on light goes green and a whole lotta nuttin happens so now i have a brick.

Do i have any options besides a $110cdn mod chip when a used psp is $170 at ebgames? Would be awsome if you could buy the eeproms with 1.5 already on them, would be alot cheeper as well and sence the modchip requires surface soldering might as well just put on a new chip...

Hey, Im running on 2.6 atm and im kinda new at this whole thing... i usualy update using my wifi connection but its down. I figure now it would be too late to do it that way anyway since they realesed the 2.8 firmware. So i searched for a download for 2.71 and found something that seems like it would be it. Its says EBOOT.PBP on it. Can you tell me if this is indeed the right firmware and how to instal it if it is. thanks

and camelot id be careful with downgrading if your not very homebrew savvy but

if you want to upgrade first if it says 2.71 it is prolly 2.71

put eboot.pbp in your psp memory stick like this

root>psp>game> make a new folder called UPDATE (all caps)

put eboot.pbp in that and then turn on ur psp and go to game and memory stick and you should see an icon saying psp update 2.71

if it doesnt say 2.71 then its not a real 2.71 update

choose it and lauch the upgrader and do what you did last time and there u go ^^

Funny I got a model 2.51 off ebay for $149.00 upgraded it to 2.71 them downgraded it to 1.50 on the 3rd try it worked..

ok....de even betta news....go 2 www.psp-hacks.com and look 4 de easy 2.71 downgrader full......its all dere....de dump files u need from the 1.5 firmware psp and all de otha stuff.....wuts eben bette.....it tells u wid wut u need 2 do step by step......i had a 2.6 b4.....ad u need a gta 2 downgrade it......so, i upgraded mine 2 2.72 1st and den downgraded it......so dis will wrk even 4 de 2.6 users.....gud luck guys......i m now a happy 1.5 user.....

Just used Downgrader2.71FULL.exe to get 1.50 from 2.71.

It worked perfect 1st time.
Used UK PSP with a 64mb card. Been too nervous for 2 weeks to try but it was worth the wait. I heard I should update to 2.00 and back to 1.50 for a 'clean' version. Any ideas of the best way to do that? Is it safer than other downdaters. Also what is best to get me started? Devhook or do you need something else first?
