Welcome friend! You are now enlisted in the 1.50 PSP Army - Spread the word and lets all recruit many more new 1.50 users.Originally Posted by Thekinglotr
Yes you can. It should not matter what region your PSP is.Originally Posted by tchok
There used to be away to check the LETTER under 120V on the side of the PSP box where all the barcodes are to determine what firmware was pre-installed. Has anyone identified how to tell from the outside of the box whether it would be a TA-082? I bet if you looked hard enough in enough stores that you could eventually find a 2.01, 2.50 or 2.60 non TA-082 $249.99 bundle pack.Originally Posted by Video_freak

as for how to tell the preinstalled firmware by lookin at the box (under 120v by barcode)
no letter= 1.5 (launch date bundle)
A= 1.5
B= 1.51
C= 1.52
D= 1.52
E= 1.52
F= 2.0
G= 2.01
H= 2.5
I = 2.6
My brother in law bought a psp which was a K on the box. That WAS a 2.6. (Until I downgraded it's white ass)
Same here. My other psp had a k on the box next to 1001 and it was non ta-082 and a 2.6
Huuray! my old black japanese psp is now (again and forever) a 1.50!
There is a simple tactic to avoiding buying a TA-082 PSP. Buy your PSP from a store that doesn't sell that many PSPs. Such as Target or... IKEA. Buying your PSP from a recently-stocked EB Games or GameStop will almost ensure your chances of getting a TA-082. BTW my PSP is PSP-1002K
