The PS1 emu isn't the thing that makes me think. It's the PS3. I think that when the PS3 comes out the firmware is actually going to be worth while. LocationFree access through your PS3 and the PSP is said to become a virtual PS3. This is why I am contemplating a mod chip. If I upgraded I couldn't live without a mod chip.

The PS3 is going to cost a fortune...but I'd just get anotehr one too. First they would have to show me some games worth getting before I fork out that money....and they failed on the PSP to do that even once.
And I can wait until someone comes out with a PSX emulator...if it ever happens. If not...no big deal.

I too would buy a second psp for use with the ps3,there's no way I'd lose my homebrew capability for a PS1 emu.Not with a homebrew one around the corner

instead of buying another psp if i were to get ps3 i would just buy a modchip that works with 3.0 then i could have homebrew and ps3 compatability

I'm just gonna wait it out. Patience always pays off. Eventually 3.0 emulation will be a reality.
Besides I have more than enough homebrew to keep me busy until then.

ive had my 1.5 since july 2005 never updated why would i choose now for a ps1 emulator and ps3 connectivity
